Medicaid 101: Unpacking the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
In partnership with fellow HTNer Jonathon George, we took a deep dive into the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), exploring how it's structured, innovation opportunities, and more. In the first half, we unpack broader questions of CHIP: how it’s structured, financed, eligibility requirements, and more. In the second half, we dive into our takeaways, looking specifically at opportunities for innovation and investments. A special thank you to Dr. Sabrina Braham, Dr. Brad Richards, and Rebecka Rosenquist for offering their time, insights, and comments throughout this article, and for helping educate us on this topic!

Community Q&A:
A collection of some questions with thoughtful answers from the community:
- Does anyone here have experience with SaaS sales within healthcare? Our VC investors say we have to make 100M per year 5-7 years after founding the company. Reading about realistic growth rates, I don't see ourselves making that much in 10-12 years. What's a good, realistic growth rate once you hit the 2-3M ARR?
Link - Question for doctors in this community: what mobile apps do you usually use (for clinical decision support, information, research etc.)? UpToDate, Epocrates, GoodRx, and LactMed are mentioned here.
Link - Which Content Mgmt System (CMS) are you all using? And why (the good, the bad and the ugly). Guru and Contentful are highlighted below.
Link - Could a model like Concert Health's work for MSK? Integrating specialists with primary care practices and letting them bill for collaborative care?
Link - What are founders of companies with 1-5 employees doing for health/dental/vision insurance benefits? We've received quotes from traditional brokers but the proposed plans are pretty unappealing and have high premiums, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs. Are there options like PEOs or local startup consortia that provide better health plans?
