Summary
With the release of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, CMS finalized another mandatory innovation model called the Ambulatory Specialty Model (ASM) focused on specialists who treat traditional Medicare patients for heart failure or low back pain.
In my discussion with Luis Argueso, partner at InHealth Advisors, he sketched out what the impact might be for a cardiologist. What’s interesting to me is that it’s starting to look like real money— not life changing, but 7% of collections isn’t nothing.

Luis is going to walk us through the model, its mechanics, and his view of what it means for specialty doctors in the coming years.
