Summary

Supplemental benefits are a key part of Medicare Advantage offerings. Vision, dental, and hearing are practically table stakes at this point. But in recent years, supplemental benefit design has gotten increasingly creative—and, as a result, has drawn increased regulatory scrutiny from D.C., including the elimination of the V-BID model, stricter marketing rules, and additional reporting requirements.

To talk through how plans are navigating this environment, we sat down with Rose Mollitor, Managing Director of ATI Advisory. Before joining ATI Advisory, she was Executive Director for Medicare Product Innovation at Aetna and a Senior Medicare Program Examiner at the Office of Management and Budget.
