Our Purpose
Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here. HTN exists to help thoughtful, curious healthcare professionals stay one step ahead in a rapidly evolving industry by creating a trusted space for deep thinking, insightful dialogue, and meaningful connection. To protect that space, all members are expected to follow these rules and norms when engaging in Slack.
We believe: In a noisy world, those who think deeply - and are willing to share their thinking with others — are the ones shaping the future of healthcare.
Community Rules
HTN works because of how members show up. To keep the quality high, discussions productive, and the community a welcoming place, we ask everyone to follow a few shared norms in Slack.
Be respectful and open-minded.
HTN works because of how members show up. To keep the quality high, discussions productive, and the community a welcoming place, we ask everyone to follow a few shared norms in Slack.
Contribute thoughtfully.
We encourage you to ask thoughtful, detailed questions. When sharing links or resources, please add context to help others engage more deeply. The clearer you are about what kind of information or support you’re looking for, the better the conversation will be. We don’t allow reposts of AI-generated content or link-shares meant only to drive engagement without thoughtful framing.
Give first, and share your expertise generously.
We value thoughtful engagement! HTN thrives when members reinforce and extend each other’s thinking. This is a community; the more you put in the more you get out.
No pitching or promoting in posts or DMs.
HTN is not the place for unsolicited selling, self-promotion, or outreach. We have a zero-tolerance policy for unsolicited, promotional DMs to other members. Sending sales pitches, BD outreach, or promotional messages directly to members without their consent is a violation of our Code of Conduct, and grounds for immediate removal from the community. This includes DMing members with hiring services or platforms after they post in #job-openings-gigs or #job-seekers.
We take this very seriously to preserve the trust that makes this community valuable. If you receive an unsolicited promotional DM from another member, please let the HTN team know and we’ll follow up right away.
Have fun!
At HTN this means meaningful fun and impactful learning: healthy debate, surprising insights, and valuable conversations. This space works best when we show up with energy and thoughtfulness.
AI Policy
HTN is a space for humans! The community exists to help thoughtful, curious healthcare professionals stay one step ahead, by creating a trusted space for deep thinking, insightful dialogue, and meaningful connection. We want to be intentional about how AI fits into this space. Our guidelines:
AI can be a helpful editing tool, but AI-generated posts are discouraged. The posts that are most valuable are written with your own voice, and have a unique perspective.
If something is obviously AI-written, we'll gently flag it to you, and may remove the post. Members can tell the difference, and it erodes the trust that makes this space valuable.
Unauthorized bots and external apps are not permitted in Slack. Please do not connect third-party automation tools, bots, or AI integrations to our Slack workspace without explicit permission from the HTN team.
Going forward, this policy will evolve as the landscape does. It's a tricky thing to moderate, and we won't always get it right, but it's something we're actively working on to keep the community authentic. If you see anything that feels off, please DM the HTN team and we'll follow up.
Violations & Moderation
We rarely need to intervene, but to protect the space for others, HTN reserves the right to issue private warnings or reminders, and/or remove members for repeated or serious violations. Generally speaking we will typically send a reminder before a more formal notice, ahead of removing members from the community.
How to Report Concerns Anonymously
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, or that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or disrespected, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
You can report anonymously using this form: Submit a Concern Anonymously
You can also reach out directly to the HTN team at [email protected] or DM Caleigh (HTN Team) in Slack. All reports are handled discreetly, and we will take action with care, context, and fairness.
